Lowcountry Painter and Ceramic Artist

After attending SCAD as a SCAD scholar and graduating summa cum laude, I spent 15 years working as a graphic designer, creative director, and in-house agency director at a publicly-traded tech company. In 2019, I felt compelled to re-focus on my fine art practice. I began learning through workshops with esteemed artists focused on various mediums and subject matter. I recently began pursuing a certificate in painting studies at RISD.

I consider my art practice a sustainable one. I use oil paint, created with natural, non-toxic pigments in plant-based oil carriers. I opt for natural, responsible substrates as much as possible — like linen rather than cotton canvas. Linen requires far less water than cotton to grow and does not call for pesticide use. I am interested in any way possible to “green” my art practice and am also moving toward creating a solvent-free studio space.

Giving back is an essential part of my art practice. A percentage of every sale I make is donated to local nonprofit organizations protecting SC lands and culture.
